AirAsia Inaugurates Bangkok (Don Mueang) – Shanghai route More travel options for guests as airline launches direct flights to Kaohsiung too!
AirAsia today celebrates two new routes as it launches direct flights between Don Mueang and Shanghai with a frequency of five times a week and Don Mueang to Kaohsiung with four flights weekly.
To mark the double celebration, AirAsia jointly with Don Mueang Airport organized a welcoming event for arriving passengers from both destinations here today. Both inaugural flights proved to be a popular choice among travelers and resulted in high load factors of over 95 percent.
Bangkok (Don Mueang)-Shanghai, operated by Thai AirAsia (FD), provides a convenient and affordable alternative to the existing Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi)-Shanghai sector, serviced by Thai AirAsia X (XJ).
Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Thailand, who arrived on the inaugural flight from Kaohsiung, remarked: “The city of Kaohsiung is a key destination with attractions for both art and spiritual travelers. The destination is a charming and unique place that is easy to navigate with many convenient facilities including its high speed train service. It took a lot of hard work for AirAsia to finally inteoduce Don Mueang-Kaohsiung and we are confident it will become a popular new destination for Thai tourists while also bringing in visitors to the Kingdom.”l
