An Exclusive Talk with Ms. Patcharawadee Weerabovornpong on International Women’s Day
Celebrating International Women’s Day 2025 at The Berkeley Hotel Bangkok
As International Women’s Day 2025 approaches, The Berkeley Hotel Bangkok stands proud to embrace this year’s theme, “Accelerate Action,” a global call to fast-track progress in women’s empowerment. In the spirit of the occasion, we had the privilege of speaking with Ms. Patcharawadee Weerabovornpong, Managing Director of The Berkeley Hotel Bangkok. A young, trailblazing business leader and devoted mother of three, she shares her inspiring journey and vision for change.
Q: As a successful managing director and mother, how do you manage to balance these two demanding roles?
Ms. Patcharawadee: Balancing work and motherhood is a continuous learning process. I draw strength from both roles—my children inspire me to create a meaningful legacy, and my incredible team at The Berkeley Hotel drives me to lead with passion and purpose. For me, it’s all about setting priorities, building a strong support system, and cherishing every moment. Additionally, I was raised in a family that empowered and supported gender equality while blending deeply with Thai values. The respect for seniority, the kindness toward underprivileged individuals, and the responsibility to uplift those around us are values that I hold dear and integrate into both my leadership and parenting.
Q: How does this year’s theme, “Accelerate Action,” resonate with you personally and professionally?
Ms. Patcharawadee: “Accelerate Action” is a call to step out of comfort zones and push boundaries. In the hospitality industry, in my role as a mother, and as a mentor to young women, I believe it’s essential to take bold, decisive steps today rather than waiting for the perfect moment. It’s about creating impact now and inspiring others to do the same. Moreover, action must be taken with a strong foundation in values—respecting traditions, fostering inclusivity, and ensuring that as we rise, we also uplift those who need support the most.
Q: What advice would you give to women aspiring to leadership roles?
Ms. Patcharawadee: Believe in your potential and invest in yourself. Don’t be afraid to take risks and dream big. Challenges will come, but resilience and adaptability are your greatest allies. Surround yourself with people who uplift and challenge you to grow. Also, leadership isn’t just about breaking barriers; it’s about building bridges. Respecting Thai cultural values, such as honoring seniority while being kind and fair to those in junior roles, creates a balanced and harmonious work environment where everyone thrives.
At The Berkeley Hotel Bangkok, Ms. Patcharawadee’s leadershipreflects a commitment to inclusivity, empowerment, and creating a platform for meaningful change. This International Women’s Day, the hotel invites you to celebrate with special events, including thought-provoking panel discussions and curated dining experiences that honor the spirit of progress.
