Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok asserts credentials as one of South East Asia’s leading MICE hotels following major overhaul
Bangkok hotel’s transformation encompasses an entire floor of 2,800 sqm of meeting space, including 22 distinct venues, two ballrooms and a spectacular 22-meter-long LED screen
Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok, the renowned hotel on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, is inviting professional meeting planners and corporate groups to elevate their events in the Thai capital following a comprehensive renovation of the hotel’s MICE facilities, featuring new cutting-edge technology and the charm of an elegant waterfront setting.
Located opposite luxury lifestyle complex ICONSIAM, Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok is a premium urban resort offering a fully immersive riverfront experience that blends authentic Thai hospitality with waterside dining and river cruising. Its newly transformed MICE facilities embrace the destination, with 22 light-filled meeting spaces, including two ballrooms, comprising more than 2,800 square meters of total floor space – all on the same level and overlooking the “River of Kings”.
The expansive Royal Orchid Sheraton Ballroom, overlooking the undulations of the iconic waterway, can host up to 1,150 people for the grandest of gatherings, including major conferences, weddings, gala dinners and award ceremonies. A spectacular 22-meter-long LED screen will make a striking impact to enhance all events.
Alternatively, the fully flexible Riverside Ballroom can cater for up to 320 delegates, or be divided into multiple smaller sections to meet the unique needs of each group. A series of naturally-lit meeting rooms – Pompadour, Catteleya, Calanthe, Ayaret, Vanda, and Panisea – can host sessions for between 12 and 150 guests, including business meetings, team training, product launches, media briefings and more. Waterfront terraces also provide the backdrop for glamorous photo shoots, cocktail receptions and celebratory events.
With a total of 726 spacious rooms and suites, all of which frame panoramic river views, Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok can accommodate entire groups under one roof. A choice of culinary options includes Thara Thong, the authentic Thai restaurant that was visited by chef Rick Stein and appeared on his TV show, as well as Giorgio’s Italian trattoria, Siam Yacht Club, the chic riverside restaurant, and Feast, the international dining destination famed for its Sunday brunch.
Guests also have myriad ways to unwind, including a tropical garden and resort-style pool, a tennis court, jogging track, fitness center and the tranquil Mandara Spa, which captures river views from each treatment room. A regular shuttle boat service transports guests to ICONSIAM or the BTS skytrain station, and for international visitors, Bangkok’s two airports – Suvarnabhumi (37km) and Don Mueang (28km) – are both easily accessible via the city’s elevated expressways.
“We are delighted to reveal our newly renovated MICE facilities, which we are confident will establish us as one of South East Asia’s leading hotels for meetings and events. As the region’s most important business and economic hub, and Thailand’s third largest¹ source market for international events, Singapore is a hugely important market for us. We invite all Singaporean corporate groups and event planners to come and discover how our newly-upgraded meetings floor, panoramic river views, huge LED screen, and commitment to sustainability can inspire their delegates and exceed their business goals,” said David Lance, General Manager, Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok.
Meeting planners can now “Connect Responsibly” at Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok, in line with Marriott Bonvoy Events’ new sustainable MICE program. Every event hosted at the hotel will be provided with a Meeting Impact Report to track their emissions, which can then be offset by purchasing carbon credits for a range of environmental projects in association with Marriott’s partner, South Pole. With measures to tackle water usage, food waste, plastics and emissions, organizers can be assured their event will have a minimum impact on the planet, while leaving a lasting impression on its delegates.
The commitment to sustainability has helped the hotel achieve a series of honors, including Green Key certification and the ASEAN MICE Venue Standard, which was created by the Association of South East Asian Nations to ensure the consistent quality of meeting products and protect the region’s natural and cultural resources. These certificates form part of Marriott International’s global Sustainability and Social Impact Goals, which include global targets to reduce water use by 15%, carbon intensity by 30%, waste to landfill by 45%, and food waste by 50% by 2025, as the company progresses towards net-zero emissions by 2050.
